Quick Thoughts of a Nomadic Mama
"It's good to be home
- Learn to cultivate home and "set up shop" wherever you are.
sometimes this looks like hanging something simple on the wall, unpacking clothes (ALWAYS
UNPACK THE CLOTHES), or even familiar smells like a candle or diffuser. Life seems much simpler when we unpack, even if it's just for a couple days. Don't worry, you'll get good at it and it will no longer be a daunting task, just routine.
- Embrace the change, and the kids will too.
Kids feed off of us, and if you're a parent you know this all too well. When I began to embrace the travel and the constant moving around, I began to look forward to it, and so do the kids. A common question in our home: where are we going next? Don't get me wrong, I love a good nesting too, ha, but if that's not your season, embrace the adventure!
- When it's not feeling very fun, remind yourself of God's faithfulness. Get new perspective. Many times when Im feeling this way, the fist thing I do is ask myself: when is the last time I spent time with my creator? This changes everything.
-Enjoy every home, every guest room, every hotel room, every van that you are in. One day you'll look back and think: those were the days. THESE are the days. Lean into them.
Just sharing my journey as I go, I'm sure I'll have more thoughts to share soon.
That's all for now,
